The details of this weekend were thought out before Elise was even born. The highlights include a visit to Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills....
The kids had the kind of fun that comes from adjoining hotel rooms and late night swimming adventures with cousins....
Breakfast at our absolute favorite- Toast. If you are ever in the Detroit area and are interested in experiencing the very best omelet of your life- head to Toast Ferndale or Toast Birmingham. Elise highly recommends them!
And lastly, the grand finale of our weekend featured the Tigers game. Elise spent most of the game snuggled in my baby carrier, but she enjoyed it nonetheless....
When the days you have with your child are limited, you quickly learn to cherish each moment. One of my friends recently asked me what I have learned from this experience. I imagine I won't fully be able to answer that question for years to come, however I can say without a doubt that I have learned to appreciate and cherish my family in a new, inexplicable way. Andrew and I have decided we are not going to let our circumstance dictate how we spend our days with Elise. We've learned that most of the day to day worries of this life are meaningless. Sometimes happiness is a decision.
