One year ago this month we received the most terrifying news we could ever imagine. I remember every detail of that day so well that I cannot believe an entire year has already passed. To say it has been a whirlwind of a year would be a tremendous understatement. Six months ago today our precious baby girl became an angel. Through the roller coaster of emotions and events, God carried us. Looking back on the past year, I cannot help but think of the ways our lives have changed for the better because of the life of our sweet baby girl...
Elise, the impact you have made on our lives is everlasting. Your life has positively influenced your big sister's life for eternity. She understands what it means to love someone in Heaven. When she misses you, her heart tugs on her invisible string and your heart tugs right back. Because of your life, we are stronger. You taught us to focus on what truly matters in life and to forget about the rest. You taught us compassion and empathy for others that we would have never known without having you in our lives. Because of you, sweet girl, we learned to take chances. We learned the importance of following our hearts and making our dreams a reality. We learned that God can turn a tragedy into a blessing and that perspective is the determining factor between destruction and survival.
In honor of Elise's life, we are asking our family and friends to keep her upcoming birthday in mind for something very special. On August 7, 2014, we welcome all who would like to participate to perform a random act of kindness in honor of Elise Vivienne. Her life has touched many lives already. By spreading joy and love on Elise's birthday, we will make certain that her life will continue to be a blessing to others.
